Draft one: Targets/Evaluation

Our groups' first draft included me as the main character. We had almost completed this film to submit as our second draft until i had gotten into an accident. Since this has occurred, my group and i have decided that we were to find someone to replace me. Although we found someone quickly, we decided to change a lot of the scenes to make it suitable for our new actors' actions and surroundings. Overall i think this draft helped us make as many changes as possible and all helped us make our newer film opening better. Although our draft is good, it was still needed to be improved with more shots.

Our targets insisted of using and understanding the different camera angles and editing techniques that go with the making of our horror film, angles such as low and high shots to clearly showcase what is being done with the protagonist/antagonist. Another target was to make the acting more believable to build up danger and suspense.

Main task: Shot list

Main task: Editing Process (video)

This video was created using Final Cut, and Sanaz helped Abdulla edit the screenshots to make a sample video. The clips used in the editing were taken by Harvey who also helped create the video.

Main task: Group conversations

Before we went off to film, we made sure we organised specifically when and where we had to meet. We even spoke about what i was to wear to make the film appropriate. We made sure we had parental supervision and that everything we planned had been agreed on rather than doing it in a dangerous manner.

Main task: Our behind the scenes film

This is our behind the scenes Vlog. Sadly i was not included in this video as i wasnt able to make it on the day due to an accident that had happened. But from what i have seen i think that our second draft has turned out way better as the first was like a practice filming session, where we were getting used to the camera and how to handle it, the specific location we filmed at, and how we were to plan our shots.

Main task: Editing Process (images)

I have taken a few screenshots of our film editing. There are screenshots of our clips put together, our music tracks that we have used or thought of using, and also a screenshot of the whole application and how everything is set out. The application that was used is called Final Cut Pro. So far our film is 3 minutes long, which is above the maximum time limit, but before the deadline the group and i will sort it out and make it shorter.

Our movie opens with a silence that leaves the audience wondering whats going to happen next? the first tune that comes on is a self made piece, by a you tuber called DanielAlexis, which plays throughout the opening to the end. Seconds after the music starts, we added a distorted sound clip of children laughing, which is timed perfectly with the victims curiousness of the location making it seem as if he heard it as well as the audience, making this Diegetic.

Main task: Makeup

For our makeup, we used a simple ingredient for our protagonist. The ingredient we have used is tomato sauce. the reason we used this is because it is a thick paste that can be mistaken for real blood. Also the colour is quite dark which is a great way to make it look like blood.
